- After waiting for a day in Dartmouth to let strongish westerlies pass through, we headed west. With more westerlies forecast, we thought this would be a slow sail. And so it turned out - to start with. Sailing out from Dartmouth our VMG eventually went negative to we motored round Start Point and past Prawle Point until level will Salcombe. After sailing out to get us a bit more sea room, we were able to sail direct to Cawsand Bay at between 7 and 8 knots the whole way. Top sailing with the company of about 20 to 30 dolphins for about 10 minutes adding to it!
