- Overnight ferry from Kirkwall on Orkney to Lerwick on Shetland. A good crossing with very little swell. But the "simmer din" meant that there was too much light for me to sleep with the blinds open and too much swell for Liz to sleep with the blinds shut. Aidan quite tired now. Dog was happy with it all though. Breakfast on the ferry was £7.50 (they debated whether I was entitled to a cheaper child's portion). They aren't ripping off the tourists here!
