Description
We decided on Granville as the next port of call to get a better angle on the wind for the return trip to Guernsey. The first attempt at leaving St Cast was short lived due to an engine overheating problem on one of the yachts. The "yachting hive mind" diagnosed a loose jubilee clip on a cooling water pipe. The continuing NE winds meant that we couldn't sail all this passage and get to Granville in time to get over the marina sill. So we motored out from St Cast into the wind until we passed the Vieux Bank cardinals. We then bore way and motor sailed most of the way to Granville with a bit of sailing at the end when we knew we had time enough to get to Granville marina. The photos include those from a "day off" exploring St Cast including an excellent "moule a la moutard".
