- "Officer of the day" (an OOD) for a dinghy cruise at SYC. Started out with absolutely no wind - to the point where it was doubtful whether the cruise could go ahead. But the wind filled in just in time and continued to rise gently during the afternoon to make a very pleasant sail for the boats that took part. Had a little look out to the SWM to see if an "out to sea" element of the cruise was possible. Unfortunately, just a bit too much remaining ebb tide against the southerly wind - resulting in a couple of patches of bumpiness - so we didn't go out.
