Description
A Dart harbour guide (https://www.dartharbour.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Paddle-Trail-1-Totnes-Stoke-Gabriel.pdf) made us wonder just how much water there would be in the Dart near Totnes near low tide Springs. In the end, we (us and Marija & Jeremy L) went in about two hours before L/W at Totnes and there was plenty for kayaking. We started back from the Stoke Gabriel pontoon just after low water and there still plenty of water on the way back to Totnes for kayaking. The other big surprise on the trip was just how unbothered by kayakers the local seals are. I think they were mostly snoozing/sunbathing in the water and were unfazed by us. They even came to investigate us rather than the other way round. Hottest day of the year apparently. Exeter Airport recorded 32.3 degrees - making the large ice cream back at Totnes very drippy but very welcome. First 7 rather good photos courtesy of Marija Lees.
