The girls go to Stonehenge to see in the Summer Solstice!
A stomp around the North Devon coast on the only misty day of our stay at North Morte campsite
A circular walk from CAMC campsite near Bovisand down to the estuary and along to Heybrook Bay. Back past The Mussel Inn where we are heading later for dinner.
Scooby Hound was feeling a bit poorly (not eating - very unlike him) so his walk on Perranporth was cancelled). My mid afternoon he'd picked up and wolfed down a late lunch. So we had a short walk to a alter lunch at the…
So after nearly a week of good exercise, it was so rainy today we hibernated at Treen Campsite. The predicted "weather window" at 5pm did happen and we got an hour without rain to visit the Logan Rock pub. The "gatekeepe…
Down from Down Thomas to the SWCP and along to Wembury. Lovely ice cream but no dogs on the beach until the end of September. Tye not impressed. Back, to start with, along the Erme Plymstock trail. Both Aspalls and Guinn…
A walk along the Helford Estuary, back inland and then along Frenchmans Creek back to the village of Helford
A walk from Mylor Bridge to Restronguet Creek to the Pandora Inn. The Pandora Inn had burnt down since the last time we were here but has been sympathetically restored. Back along Mylor Creek to the Mylor Bridge
A walk from Maenporth Beach via RoseMullion Head and the Helford. Summer finally arrived on the last day of our summer holidays! Beautiful views from Rosemullion Head including some of the C Class catamarans preparing fo…
A shortish walk along part of Pennaporth beach in the gloopy mist. Scooby, of course, played sticky stick the whole way.
Having hidden in the van all day from the rain, wind and mizzle, the need to avoid going stir crazy lead to a short walk to Constantine Bay. Nice coffee and cake though.
We couldn't do a Cornwall trip without giving Scooby Hound an outing to Perranporth beach at low tide. Much shorter walk that usual as it was very hot and Scooby Hound is an old boy.
A dog walk from Tregunwith Farm to Mylor Harbour. Managed to avoid the heaviest rain while having coffee at Mylor.
An unexpectedly short walk at Hartland Quay.We met some people coming the other way who said they and their dog had been chased by cows in the next field. Scooby Hound tries to eat cows... So we turned round and had humo…
From Mylor Harbour to Trelissick and back via Looe Beach. Tried teaching Scooby to swim at Looe Beach but he was too much of a wuss - even for strawberry ice cream.
After putting up with three days of canoeing, Scooby gets some recompense with a walk along Perranporth beach. We walked 5 miles - he probably ran 15 miles.
Too windy for canoeing (F5/6 from the east) so a yomp with the hound around St Anthony Head. Top walk with just about the right amount of up and downiness.
After the 6.5 miles yomp round St Anthony Head, another mile and half to the Pandora Inn for our anniversary dinner. Fifteen years married, 21 years together and 30 years since we met. Less for murder as they say (and Li…
A short walk from Trethias Farm Campsite to Treyarnon Bay.
A walk along the front from Marazion to Mousehole. A easy, level walk on finished walkways all the way. Gave the hound a run about on the beach to start with. Late lunch in The Ship in Mousehole after we failed to stop a…
A walk from Portscatho round to Pendower Beach. In his eagerness to eat a Shetland pony, the bloody dog pulled me backwards arse over tit down into gorse scrub leaving me stung, bleeding, pissed off and with a twisted b…
We couldn't visit north Devon without giving Scooby Hound a blast along Woolacombe Beach at low tide. Scooby's a bit of an old boy now so we restricted his "ball action". He was still too puffed out at the end of the wal…
Actually the GPS track is just of Mawgan Porth but most of Scooby's walk was at Watergate Bay which is one bay to the west of here and quite a bit bigger. Good crab soup at the Beach Hut at Watergate Bay.
A round trip from Mylor Bridge to Flushing and then back via Mylor Harbour. Very nice lunch at the cafe at Mylor harbour.
Liz's second favourite walk. Around St Anthony's Head on the east side of the Fal Estuary. Scooby enjoyed himself immensely but had to be reduced to "two paw drive" when passing a herd of cows on the cliff edge,
Sixteenth anniversary dinner at the Pandora Inn on the Fal. Only a day late but it was raining yesterday. Lovely food and the Rattler was good too. Sod of a hill on the way "home" when full of food and drink.
Dodged the rain to walk from Treen via Porthcurno and Porthgwarra to Lands End. Exhausting walking into the 40 to 50mph westerlies (yellow wind warning). Because we didn't fancy the coast path so close to the cliff edge…
Too windy to go kayaking so we took the ferry from Cawsand to Plymouth - the first time in all the years we've been coming to Cawsand / Kingsand. A very "rolly" boat for the F5 winds (but given that it "lands" on the bea…
A decent off road walk from Heligan campsite down to Megavissey. Got rained on in Meva - a lot. Good coffee on the outer harbour wall.
Walk along the coast path to Hell's Mouth Cafe. Seafood chowder was excellent again (and the cheesy chips weren't really necessary). Then inland via Trehidy Park (which Liz liked) and then back along a now very misty coa…
