Treen coast path walk 2016-06-18 A coast path walk from Treen campsite (near Porthcurno which is near Lands End). The guide book said 4.5 miles but it ended up being 7.2 miles AND with lots of up and downie bits as well. Very nice though.
Porthcurno and Porthgwarra 2017-09-14 From Treen Campsite (one of our favourites), a mixture of clifftops and a little inland to Porthgwarra. Back past the Minack Theatre.
Logan Rock and Penberth Cove 2018-09-07 On to one of our favourite campsites - Treen (just near the Minack Theatre and Lands End). Photos are from the "nature ramble" that Liz went on - organised by the Treen pirate. Photos of Scooby at Penberth Cove are by Liz as the nature ramble also went that way.

Gwenapp Head 2018-09-08 Another new take on a favourite walk. From Treen, via St Levans, Porthgwarra and on to Gwenapp Head (just along from Lands End and happily not touched by the awful tat at Lands End). We could see the rain showers getting blown in from the Atlantic - but as they were mostly horizontal it was possible to keep mostly dry by sheltering behind lumps of granite.

Treen and Penberth Cove 2019-09-12 Walked to Penberth Cove - a Poldark favourite. Past Logan Rock and up through the woods to The Logan Rock pub for a pint. Chicken in residence at the pub.

Treen Car Park 2021-09-17 Because Treen Campsite was full with a VW Camper rally (with Seth Lakeman playing), we parked up in the rather splendid Treen village car park (£10 a night - the photo of the cruise ship taken from the car park).

Treen Campsite 2022-09-08 So after nearly a week of good exercise, it was so rainy today we hibernated at Treen Campsite. The predicted "weather window" at 5pm did happen and we got an hour without rain to visit the Logan Rock pub. The "gatekeeper" (or maitre d) at the pub is someone's grumpy granny. We'd have walked out but there are no other pubs within walking distance. Nice pint of Rattler though.

Porthcurno, Porthwarra and Gwenapp Head 2024-09-16 Slight variations on an old walk. The cafe at Porthgwarra is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays - damn! Gwenapp Head is so much more inspiring than Lands End. Spotted some Cornish Choughs eating cow shit. Back through fields of sweetcorn higher than either of us. And then down to Porthcurno Beach with an ice cream. Felt very odd / disloyal without Scooby Hound.
Treen to Lamorna 2024-09-17 A quite tough coast path walk from Treen via Penberth Cove and Tater Du lighthouse to Lamorna Cove. Lots of up and downy bits, some muddy bits, some very muddy bits and some scary as fxxk edge of cliff bits. So something for everyone really unless you want easy field walking. But the drama was watching a racing yacht running under full sails downwind a couple of hundred metres inside the Runnel Stone south cardinal at low tide and towards the breaking water. Looked again 2 minutes later and he was dropping all sails and clearly on the rocks. Rang the coastguard who, as expected, had already been informed (probably by Gwenapp Head Coast Watch). The coastguard said that Sennen RNLI had been tasked so we watched them arrive. Their offshore boat couldn't get too close because of the rocks so the launched their rib. We think they may have taken the sole (?) sailor off and then they waited until the yacht floated off the rocks after high tide. Not too sure what happened to the yacht after that!
