- A bit of a beast of a walk. I don't think we've got a walk so wrong and had to go so "off piste" in years! First down to Pentewan. Lovely beach but they don't like dogs. Then along the SWCP towards Black Head. That includes some uppy/downy bits to challenge anything the north coast SWCP has. Then we struck in land and it all went a bit wrong. After getting blocked by a field of cows with young cowlets (we had Tye with us), we tried going down an old green lane. Not well maintained and we got covered in mud (mainly due to Tye who doesn't like mud). So we went off piste and crossed fields and woods to get back to where we needed to be. Even then, it was a long stomp to cross the St Austell to get back to the campsite. Oh well.
