A circular walk from CAMC campsite near Bovisand down to the estuary and along to Heybrook Bay. Back past The Mussel Inn where we are heading later for dinner.
Tye's first walk to Rame Head. Our 47th walk to Rame Head - probably. Very nice day for it too. Saw one of those autonomous boat things and then went back to Maker Heights for the first time in a couple of years.
A wander down from Maker Heights into Kingsand and Cawsand. Managed to get a pint in both The Devonport and The Cross Keys. Happy days. Spotted the autonomous boat thingie again - it really is quite big.
A bit of a beast of a walk. I don't think we've got a walk so wrong and had to go so "off piste" in years! First down to Pentewan. Lovely beach but they don't like dogs. Then along the SWCP towards Black Head. That inclu…
Another steeply up and downy bit of the SWCP between Pentewan and Megavissey. Rather good pasties for lunch on the west harbour wall. Then back inland past Heligan and down the cycle path back to the Meadows campsite by…
Staying at the rather nice Cadwith Camping site. A walk down to Cadgwith (which we had done before it finally dawned on us). We did mean to get to Poltesco and come back inland but a late start meant we cut that short an…
Oh, I do like Porthleven. Treza campsite is great and very friendly. The Ship Inn is lovely and only mildly pricey. And the Mussel Shoals non-fine-dining is simply superb. We'd been looking forward to try their smoked ha…
Out with the dog for a kick about on the beach ahead of the most expensive pints of the holiday so far. Nice view of St Michael's Mount I guess.
A walk along the front from Marazion to Mousehole. A easy, level walk on finished walkways all the way. Gave the hound a run about on the beach to start with. Late lunch in The Ship in Mousehole after we failed to stop a…
A quick wander into "town" to allow Liz to peruse the tat shops and to give the hound a kick about on the beach. Track uploaded mainly to have something to hang Liz's photo of the holiday off. Can you guess which one she…
Coffee and cake in Sennen and, for Liz, a wander round the posh tat shop (the capstan house). Daft sods at Sennen don't allow dogs on to the beach until the end of September - they must lose so much business from people…
Bloody guidebook! Just as well we had a mapping GPS with Ordnance Survey 1:25000 maps on it. And we still did 11 miles instead of 8! A day of frequent mist and fog meant that a lot of the views were more atmospheric / mi…
Tye's first trip to Perranporth. However, due to an inability to get out of bed early enough, it was half tide meaning that the walk was cut a lot short. Tye seemed to like it though!
A new campsite at St Agnes (Blue Hills). Took a very short wander out of the campsite to the SWCP to see the walk into St Agnes. Looks very scary.
Being old people, we normally avoid Newquay. But as we planned on using a campsite in Crantock to the west of Newquay (Treago), we thought we'd have a look at Newquay. So we did, and then went on to Watergate Bay. Which…
A surprisingly good walk from Treago Campsite to Polly Joke beach. Then on the SWCP back round to Crantock. The pizzas in the Jam Jar cafe / pizzeria were really very good (and we got a mid week meal deal - happy days).…
Down from Down Thomas to the SWCP and along to Wembury. Lovely ice cream but no dogs on the beach until the end of September. Tye not impressed. Back, to start with, along the Erme Plymstock trail. Both Aspalls and Guinn…
A stomp around the North Devon coast on the only misty day of our stay at North Morte campsite
Scooby Hound was feeling a bit poorly (not eating - very unlike him) so his walk on Perranporth was cancelled). My mid afternoon he'd picked up and wolfed down a late lunch. So we had a short walk to a alter lunch at the…
A walk from Portscatho round to Pendower Beach. In his eagerness to eat a Shetland pony, the bloody dog pulled me backwards arse over tit down into gorse scrub leaving me stung, bleeding, pissed off and with a twisted b…
Walk along the coast path to Hell's Mouth Cafe. Seafood chowder was excellent again (and the cheesy chips weren't really necessary). Then inland via Trehidy Park (which Liz liked) and then back along a now very misty coa…
Mylor Harbour round to Flushing and then back up Mylor Creek. Top paddle! Very slight swell from SE winds when going along the shore before turning into the the Falmouth shelter.
From Helford Passage via Frenchman's Creek up into Mawgan Creek towards the top of the Helford Estuary. A little windy on the way back meant plenty of exercise!
From Mylor Harbour to Trelissick and back via Looe Beach. Tried teaching Scooby to swim at Looe Beach but he was too much of a wuss - even for strawberry ice cream.
After putting up with three days of canoeing, Scooby gets some recompense with a walk along Perranporth beach. We walked 5 miles - he probably ran 15 miles.
Too windy for canoeing (F5/6 from the east) so a yomp with the hound around St Anthony Head. Top walk with just about the right amount of up and downiness.
Took the dog to Porthtowan for a walk along the beach. But they don't allow dogs on the beach. Miserable bastards! Coffee instead. Then on to Beacon Cottage Campsite.
A decent off road walk from Heligan campsite down to Megavissey. Got rained on in Meva - a lot. Good coffee on the outer harbour wall.
First day of hols! Whiteley's off to new camp-site near Salcombe - remember for family happiness mobile signal not great for route finding! New camp-site with very friendly owners.Walked to Saw Mill Cove lots of dog swim…
Liz did plants. Scooby and I did reading and digging holes on the beach (maybe not in that order).
