Cape Cornwall and Cornish mining 2013-04-08 Cape Cornwall is where the tides divide between the English Channel and the Bristol Channel. Apparently. The post industrial Cornish mining landscape has been the subject of thousands of photographs but is still very impressive if somewhat melancholy.

Zennor and scary cliffs 2013-04-12 What was I thinking? A birthday holiday in Cornwall going cliff walking When I have the teensiest problem with vertigo. However this was the only walk that had me wanting to crawl along on my hand and knees. I would have done as well if we didnt have our daft hound bounding along looking for rabbits and birds to chase. Survival was a pleasant surprise. The views over Seal Island were spectacular and it lived up to its name with 6 seals on the island and another surfing in the waves below us.

Cape Wrath (nearly) 2022-05-18 So we made it to the farthest planned point on our Highlands and Islands road trip. Durness is about 10 miles from Cape Wrath - the most north westerly point of the mainland. To get to Cape Wrath itself requires a short ferry trip and then a 10 mile mini bus trip on a private road through an MOD range. We didn't fancy the mini van bit. So we took Scooby Hound down to Sango Sands. My - it was windy. At least a force 8 and probably gusting more. So windy, in fact, we didn't fancy a long yomp today.
